This was the first snow of the year on December 2.  We stayed inside where it was nice and warm.  I don't even know if Ellie and Gracelyn even noticed it was snowing.

Second snow of the year on Christmas Eve.  We ran outside real fast to get a couple of pictures.  Fortunately, the house was blocking most of the wind because it was blowing very hard.  The girls were only mildly curious.  I think they liked being outside where it was so cold as much as they liked the snow.

Santa Claus

Ellie & Gracelyn are wondering who the big guy in the silly hat is!

We didn't ever get any real smiles, but at least there weren't any tears!

Here are some pictures of the first time Ellie and Gracelyn met Santa.  They were still in the NICU and Santa and Mrs. Claus visited every single baby there.  Santa sure is a selfless guy!

Ellie's nurse wrapped her up and let Santa hold her.

Gracelyn looks so teeny tiny.  I can't believe that was just a year ago!

First Glimpse of a Christmas Tree

I put up our Christmas tree one night after Ellie and Gracelyn went to bed.  It was plugged in and waiting for them when the got up the next morning.  Here are their reactions....
Ellie isn't sure what to think.

Gracelyn is super excited!

In the morning, Ellie got up first.  She looked around for a while, but she soon got comfortable and wanted to touch everything!  By the time Gracelyn got up, Ellie was going after all the ornaments.  Gracelyn sure did get a kick out of it!  Both girls are very good about being gentle with the tree, lights, and ornaments.  (I did make sure to put all the glass ornaments out of reach.)

GREAT afternoon!

We were supposed to got a football game on Saturday.  We were all packed up half way there when Dave remembered our tickets were in his truck at home.  We were already running late so we decided to skip the game.  Instead, we went to the park.  This was Ellie and Gracelyn's first time at the park.  They loved it and have been asking to go back soon! ;)  It was a beautiful day.  The temperature was very nice, just a little breezy.

Me and my sweet girls!!

Ellie looking at the sky!

Gracelyn happy as can be!

Gracelyn and I had just slid down the slide.  She wasn't too sure about it.

Dave took Ellie on the big twisty slide.  Looks like he had more fun than she did!!

This is probably my favorite picture from the afternoon.  It completely captures Gracelyn's inquisitive personality!

Sweet Ellie talking away!

We were a little disappointed in missing the football game, but ended up having such a great afternoon to make up for it!!

Look what I can do....

Ellie has finally mastered the art of pulling up!  She has been able for a couple of weeks, but she has really perfected the skill in the last few days.  She has also started to wave more often.  Doesn't she look so proud of herself in this picture.  Now that both girls are pulling up I know it is just a matter of time until I have a couple of toddlers on my hands!  That is going to be interesting....

Gracelyn LOVES avacado!!

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

We visited Dave's parents in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago.  Both girls were so good on the airplane.  As long as we had snacks they were happy!

Look at our Halloween books Nana gave us!

Sunday afternoon we went to a local pumpkin  patch.  Dave didn't make any of the pictures because he got left at home - asleep.  Gracelyn and Ellie had fun exploring the pumpkins and pine needles all over the ground.  Unfortunately, most of their exploring is done with their mouths!

Gracelyn was so excited to be at the pumpkin patch!

Ellie--I don't know how we got this precious picture because she had a pumpkin stem in her mouth the entire time!!

Sweet girls

Every Halloween since we have been married, I have told Dave I wanted to carve a pumpkin, but we never have.  We finally carved our first pumpkin this year!  I got most of the goop out, but Dave did the hard work.

Turned out pretty good, don't ya think?

Ellie and Gracelyn had such a good time in Atlanta.  They can't wait to go back in March!!

Happy Halloween & more!!

We had a fun First Halloween. Unfortunately, both girls have had a virus so we didn't get to go to the Funival at our church tonight. We didn't want them around other kids, so we went to a football game instead. We went ahead a dressed them up for the game.

Ellie and Gracelyn before we left for the game.

The whole fam sitting in the stands at halftime.

I was just looking through all my pictures on my computer from September and October and realized there are a LOT of pics I haven't put up here so here you go....

Gracelyn and Ellie at 9 months old.  I know, I know, they are now almost 10 1/2 months, but I just had to show you these pictures.

Ellie--She had just discovered her tongue so she loved sticking it out.

Gracelyn wasn't having a great day.  We couldn't get many smiles out of her.

This picture was taken in early October.  We have had sooooo much rain I can't believe Gracelyn is still so excited about it! ;)

Here is Dave holding Ellie and pushing Gracelyn after their first football game.  They had a good time but once we finally left they were pretty tired.

Ellie and Gracelyn soaking up some Vitamin D.  They love, love, love being outside.  It has rained so much lately the grass has stayed really wet so we have had to put a blanket in the driveway just so we can go out.

Ellie--my little gymnast doing the splits!!

Ellie and Gracelyn playing together last week.  Doesn't Gracelyn just look so excited?!?!?

I am really going to try and stay up-to-date, but we will just have to wait and see what happens!!  Hope you all had a safe, happy Halloween!!

I thought this day would never come....

Now that both girls are holding their own bottles while eating, I might be able to get a few things done around here!!
