That's right, Gracelyn has caught up to "normal" 4 month olds. I couldn't believe it. At our very firsth pedi appt. she told me that she likes to see premies catch up by about 12 months old. I guess Gracelyn didn't want to wait around. Ellie is long and thin. She isn't too far behind on height, but she is still in about the 7 percentile for weight. She is catching up to her sister, though.
When we talked about what types of things they are doing developmentally, the pediatrician said that they are doing really well. They are around 3 months developmentally. She asked about bearing weight, tracking objects, smiling, laughing, that kind of stuff.
In other good news....the pediatrician couldn't hear Ellie's PDA anymore. She said that doesn't mean it isn't there, but it could indicate that it has fixed itself. We won't know for sure until next month when we take her back to the cardiologist. Thank you for all your continued prayers about her heart!!
Last Monday when I came home from school, my mom asked me, "If they (Ellie and Gracelyn) do something for the first time do you want me to tell you about it or not?" Well, I knew by the question that one of them had done something SPECTACULAR! Sure enough, Gracelyn laughed for the first time with my mom on Monday while I was at work. I was pretty sad at first, but then I decided if it isn't going to be with Dave or I, I would rather her laugh for my mom more than just about anyone else. I know that my she fully appreciated what a special moment it was. Gracelyn has laughed a few times since then, but she is still getting the hang of it. Ellie is getting so close, but she hasn't quite done it yet.
I know, no one likes a post without pictures, but I don't know where my USB cord is to put pictures onto my computer. I will have to look for it so you can see how much Ellie and Gracelyn are growing!
