Twice the Fun Plus One

The first picture is the girls with Santa last year. They weren't crazy about him, but we were able to take several pictures.  There weren't very many smiles, though.  This is how it went this year.... No smiles at all.  Gracelyn held it together for about 30 seconds.  Ellie screamed and reached for her daddy the entire time.  We took them the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  I thought the mall would be really busy and we would have to wait in a long line.  Nope!  We had a chance to talk with Santa before he held the girls.  We thought if they could get acquainted then maybe we could get a good picture.  It didn't really work out that way, as you can see.  I will occasionally ask Ellie if she wants to go sit in Santa's lap and she promptly responds, "No way!"  Maybe next year....

I put up our Christmas tree one night after Ellie and Gracelyn went to bed.  It was plugged in and waiting for them when the got up the next morning.  Here are their reactions.... Ellie isn't sure what to think. Gracelyn is super excited! In the morning, Ellie got up first.  She looked around for a while, but she soon got comfortable and wanted to touch everything!  By the time Gracelyn got up, Ellie was going after all the ornaments.  Gracelyn sure did get a kick out of it!  Both girls are very good about being gentle with the tree, lights, and ornaments.  (I did make sure to put all the glass ornaments out of reach.)
