Reflecting on a Year

Image
I can't believe it has been a year!  My babies had their first birthday. We had a fun party a week early.  We decided to keep things small and simple.  We were so glad that my mom, Jill and Jake, my Granma, Aunt Janice, Dave's parents and our nieces, Libby and Emma, all got to be here to celebrate.  Late one night last week Dave and I just sat at the computer and looked through pictures from this past year.  It is amazing to think about how much Ellie and Gracelyn have grown and learned in just one year!  It seems like they have just started doing so many new things in the last week.  All of a sudden it seems like they are turning into little girls.  I don't like it!!! What are they doing at 1? Ellie: Pulling up and standing, cruising around furniture Loves waving--all the time, both hands above her head, usually only waving with the left hand Big smile when she is getting attention Loves crawling  in to meet Gracelyn when...

Labor Day and Birthday

Image
My mom and I celebrated our birthday together last weekend. She and my dad drove up and we had a mini party on Saturday. Three of my mom's sisters came over for the afternoon. We picked up Babe's Chicken for lunch (yum, yum!!). My granma sent a cake with my aunts that was delicious. It was a great day. Grammy and Pop with Gracelyn and Ellie. Me, Aunt Jackie, Aunt Janice, Aunt Linda, mom Dave and I got to take Ellie and Gracelyn to visit my grandparents for Labor Day. He doesn't get much time off from work so it was a special treat to have him go with us. We had such a good time visiting my granma, granpa, and aunts. It is such a blessing having such encourabing and supportive family nearby!! Gracelyn is eating up all this attention! Granma with Gracelyn Granpa with Ellie Hope we get to see you again before too long!!

Terrible Wife

I always said once I had kids I was NOT going to turn into one of "those" moms who couldn't talk about anything except her kids. Well, I haven't posted in a LONG time because I have turned into one of "those" moms!!! I haven't had anything else to tell you about because all I do all day everyday is stay at home with the girls! Until something very, very sad happened. I am ashamed to admit it, but here goes. My wonderful, loving husband had a birthday Feb. 6. I knew I wasn't going to get him a present because I don't do any shopping these days. (I guess I could get on the internet but I am too afraid of someone stealing important information.) So, since there wasn't going to be a gift I decided to make him an extra special cake. His birthday came and I told him of my intentions, but I was just too busy that day. His birthday went and I was just too exhausted. Then the next day the girls were really fussy and I didn't have the patience for ...
